Gary L. Scheib, OD

He has received the Optometric Recognition Award from the American Optometric Association most recently in 2009. Dr. Scheib has received this award more than ten times for having an average of fifty hours of Continuing Education per year. He realizes that there are always more new things to learn in our ever changing world.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the Anthracite Optometric Society. His activity in these organizations include being a member of the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association, currently being a member of the Resolutions and By-Laws Committee of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, being a Past President of the Anthracite Optometric Society and Currently serving as the Public Information Director. In 1983 the Anthracite Optometric Society selected him as the Optometrist of the Year.

Dr. Scheib served as an Optometric Visual Perception Consultant with the Tri-Valley School district and was a guest lecturer at Bloomsburg University, Millersville University and Kutztown University on topics related to vision and learning.

Currently Dr. Scheib serves as the Pottsville Rotary Charities President. He is also a Past President of the Pottsville Rotary Club.
